Roll-Over Seating.

Roll Over is a scale model of an interactive outdoor seating element that is designed to work if it is turned “upside down”. The model is a play on the rounded legs of a rocking chair, allowing a rocking motion but stopping the model from flipping accidentally. There are two variations of the same model. The first is an oversized single-seat rocking “chair”, and the second is a full-size bench.

The bench and the chair are both 1/5th scale and are assembled using the same method. The “hourglass” arms are glued segments of 1/4th in. MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and the “seat” is pressure fit around a central supporting shaft and made from segments of 1/8th in. MDF. Both items were designed in TinkerCad and processed using the Adobe Suite.
